 • Shinigami: Thirteenth Division Unseated • Age: Unknown • Zanpakutou: Sode no Shirayuki – Ice-type Canon Relationships: Kurosaki Ichigo; Probably one of the most influential people in Rukia’s life. The substitute shinigami who she initially gave her powers to, Ichigo is probably the closest to Rukia of any of her friends. Despite their closeness, they have a fairly consistent MO of bickering, arguing, and other sorts of violent outbursts that usually culminate in him insulting her and her kicking him. But even though its not very apparent at times, Rukia considers Ichigo very important to her. Since her arrival in the City, she and he admitted feelings for each other and began a relationship that was interrupted by his sudden departure. Although the two of them shared an initially rocky "second start" when Ichigo returned to the City without his memories of the previous time, they have since been able to work through things and have started over together. Abarai Renji; Rukia’s closest friend and vice-captain of the 6th division of the Gotei-13. Renji grew up with her in the streets of Rukongai and the two were nigh inseparable up until the point where Rukia was adopted into the Kuchiki clan. When Renji let her go, they drifted apart, reunited during her execution. Renji is probably one of the few people that Rukia feels very comfortable confiding in, and she often goes to him when things go awry. Since his arrival in the City, she discovered that he has feelings for her, courtesy of one of the curses. Though she can’t return them, she has still tried to be considerate of them and avoid saying or doing things that she knows may upset him. Inoue Orihime; The other girl in Rukia’s life, even though at first they had little interaction, since the Arrancar incursion into Karakura, Rukia and Orihime have become quite close through training together. She enjoys her time spent with the other girl, even though she can’t help but feel a little jealous of Orihime at times. Due to her relationship with Ichigo, Rukia currently has a somewhat hard time facing her friend, knowing how Orihime feels about him. Ukitake Jyuushirou; Rukia’s captain in the Gotei-13. She has a deep level of respect for him, and on occasion has even confided in him, though it is hard for her to set aside the formality that being part of the Kuchiki clan has instilled in her. City-Spawned Relationships: Shihouin Yoruichi; Rukia’s mentor in the City, since she and Soifon decided that Rukia made a wonderful candidate for the Special Forces, due to her aptitude at kidou. Kotetsu Kiyone; Third-seat in Rukia’s division, Kiyone is one of the only shinigami Rukia knows who is similar to her in a way, another young female with similar outlooks. It also doesn’t hurt that due to Kiyone’s relationship with the human Masaki, Rukia sees a kindred soul in the other girl, someone who understands what it is to love someone outside the boundaries within which she is supposed to stay. Because of that, she has started to seek out Kiyone more, in hope of developing more “normal” friendships and finding people she can open up to. Neko-sensei; The feline ballet instructor. During the process of recovering Ichigo’s heart from Rue and Mythos, Rukia and Renji took ballet lessons with Neko-sensei in order to help out Ahiru. After the recovery was complete, Yoruichi had Rukia continue with the lessons as a way to supplement her hakudo training with the flexibility and ease of movement gained from the dancing. Matsumoto Rangiku; Though she had some interaction with the shinigami from 10th division before, given Rangiku’s situation in the City, Rukia sees her as yet another who understands what it is to feel torn between sides. Cirucci; Being an Arrancar, Cirucci is already on Rukia’s dislike list. The fact that she’s the Arrancar who kidnapped her and tossed her to Di Roy only adds to the distaste. Di Roy; Of all the Arrancar, Rukia dislikes Di Roy the most. He has a grudge against her from her killing him in Karakura, that he is determined to exact revenge for. Beyond that, when she was kidnapped by Cirucci, it was to Di Roy that the Privaron tossed Rukia. Before being rescued by Ichigo and the others, she lost an arm to the Numeros, only adding to the hatred she has for him. Neriele Tu Odderschvank; Rukia’s “competition” for Ichigo’s attention. She actually doesn’t mind the toddler Arrancar, though she does find Nel’s distaste of her to be bothersome at times. Hirako Shinji; Since the Vaizard’s arrival in the City, Rukia has offered him the couch to crash on in return for any aid he can offer to Ichigo in regards to controlling his Hollow. </small></font> |
